French Champlevé Enamel Four-Glass Mantel Clock
French four-glass / “crystal regulator” style mantel clock
Gilt brass/bronze case with extensive polychrome champlevé enamel decoration
White enamel dial with Roman numerals; two winding arbors (time & strike)
Coiled gong strike visible within the case
Decorative urn finial and enamelled finials; enamelled columnar architecture
Offered is an elegant French four-glass mantel clock, crafted in gilt brass/bronze and richly adorned with polychrome champlevé enamel throughout. The architectural case is set with glazed panels and framed by enamelled columns and friezes, crowned by a neoclassical urn finial and enamelled corner finials—an unmistakably refined statement piece for a cabinet, library, or drawing room.
Behind the glass, the clock presents a classic white enamel dial with Roman numerals and two winding arbors, complemented by ornate hands. The movement is key-wound and features a coiled gong for the strike, visible within the case—hallmarks of quality French workshop production of the period.
A distinguished, decorative horological object combining French taste, enamel artistry, and the timeless charm of mechanical timekeeping.
